Decided to post some stuff on these classic Legendaries. I've had a difficult time coming up with designs for these two. I don't know why, haha. I tend to overthink when it comes to gijinka designs.
Like with Mew, I wanted him to represent the good times during the 90's when Pokemon first released and when we still had those good cartoons on Nick, CN, Fox Kids, Kid's WB, etc. So I had him look really "cartoony": goofy grin, white gloves, somewhat exaggerated features, and the like.
Mewtwo was intended to be "cartoony" just like Mew, but in a more villainous way, I suppose. Tall, lanky, and with exaggerated features as well. Even though he was supposed to be a perfected clone, I somehow still imagined him to be sickly. He doesn't direct much of his strength to his body at all, but rather his psychic abilities, IDK. And since he was a clone, INSTANTLY INSERT TEAM ROCKET EMBLEM. AWYEAH.
Like I said, I tend to overthink things when it comes to humanizing things. GO ME! xD
I love your mew. Those little tufts of hair are a thousand percent better than pretty much anything I've seen on this pokémon. Mew's ears aren't that easy to put on a gijinka, but you have done it. And I love that mew's a silly little toony dude here. I've seen the old cute, coy, playful pixie girl look at least ten dozen times, and this is far more original and fun to boot. He's almost like a particularly silly Peter Pan, swooping around weightlessly, and ready to cause mischief.
Mewtwo is also great, a throwback to the villainous mad scientists of Saturday morning cartoons (as little of them as I caught). Like mew, mewtwo's ears are tough to personify, but those tufts of hair serve the purpose of matching them, and creating the evil science to perfection. Throw in those super bushy eyebrows in a bitter frown, and a fun, random squiggly stray hair falling from his hairline, and you've got yourself a brilliant cartoon villain look. This guy emulates mewtwo straight down to the shape of his nose. I love the rocket symbol on his back plate, the veins, and those futuristic shoes. And he's sealed with some brilliant shadow effects.
Your overthinking things is a formidable strength in your ability to create clever, well thought out gijinkas. Combine that with your dynamic, and fun to look at cartoon style, and you can go places.
if he is, that's awesome!
